Impact of Telemedicine on Patient Satisfaction and Perceptions of Care Quality in Radiation Oncology

With COVID-19 acutely shifting care episodes from in-person to virtual, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center’s Radiation Oncology Department studied their patients’ perceptions of care using telemedicine.

Using Quality Reviews’ real-time patient feedback tool, Q-Reviews®, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center was able to survey 1077 patients divided into two groups (in-person vs. telemedicine) to assess patients’  perception of care.

Published in the Journal of the National Comprehensive Cancer Care Network on January 4, 2021, this study offers compelling data on the positive impact of telemedicine in delivering care to radiation oncology patients.
